As one
of Metro New Yorks premier audio engineers
throughout the last twenty-five
years, John Smith has used, serviced and customized
just about
every piece of equipment on the professional
audio market. He learned what worked best, what
did not, and most importantly, why. Johns
particular expertise with speaker systems and
his uncommonly fine ear eventually led
to the engineering and development of his own
cabinet and system designs.
The
first Smith Audio subwoofer made its debut
in 1991. It was purchased on-the-spot by a DJ
who overheard it during an A/B comparison against
some of the most renowned subs on the market.
This pattern continued with the first Smith Audio loudspeaker in 1993: Whenever industry
pros A/Bd Smith Audio, they bought
Smith Audio!
The
Smith Audio sound was clearly superior to
systems priced much higher. Plus, the cabinets
were lighter and more compact, they required
far less drive wattage per dB, and there was
no extraneous vibration or noise coming from
the cabinet sides or back. DJs called and
club installations followed.
John
spent the next eight years making every possible
improvement in sound, power, durability, and
customer support. Adapting new advances in computerized
audio design, he developed enclosures that controlled
and optimized sound duplication to a degree never
before achieved, with design tolerances as fine
as 1/64 of an inch. He custom matched each cabinet
to its component soulmates, including crossovers
specially designed by Smith Audio.
He protected
each cabinet with the toughest overcoat in the
industry. And he put together an experienced
design, manufacturing
and support team; one that readily meets the
needs of the rapidly expanding
customer base for todays line of Smith Audio loudspeakers and subwoofers.
Now
any audio application can get the purest sound
duplication possiblefrom crystal-clear
highs to bone-shaking lows, and everything in
between.
